How to product ferrosilicon

  1. The primary raw material used in the production of fesi are iron ore,coke and silica. Iron ore is used  as the source of iron,while coke and silica are used as reducing agents.The quality of these raw material plays a significant role in the quality of the final product.

  • Melting point: The melting temperature varies depending on the silicon content.
  • For example: FeSi 75 melting temperature range of 1300 ~ 1330 ℃.
  • FeSi 45 melting temperature range of 1250 ~ 1360 ℃.
  • Boiling Point: The boiling point for this substance is 2355°C
  • Stability:Ferrosilicon is extremely stable
  • Top quality ferrosilicon without weathering in a year.
  • Ordinary ferrosilicon will weathering in half a year

What are the types of ferrosilicon?

  1. Low Carbon FeSi—Used to avoid the reintroduction of carbon in the manufacture of stainless and electrical steels.
  2. Low Titanium FeSi—Used to avoid the formation of TiN and TiC mixtures in electrical steels and certain specialty steels.
  3. Low Aluminium FeSi—Used to avoid the formation of hard Al2O3 and Al2O3-CaO mixtures in a range of steel grades.
  4. Special ferrosilicon—A generic term for customized products requiring different alloying elements.
